Remember, this is a remote island in the Bahamas. Don’t count on finding everything you might need and want here. The shops have limited stock so bring anything you simply can’t live without.
There are 3 main grocery stores on Long Island. All of the grocery stores are restocked once per week when the mail boat comes in. This is the usually on Wednesdays, and it is the best time to stock up on produce. All of the stores now carry dairy milk alternatives like soy and almond milks. The store that is nearest to Dean’s Blue Hole is called Sea Winds. Hardings Grocery and Hardware is about 20 miles North from Sea Winds, and Hillside Grocery and Hardware is about a mile North of Hardings. Hillside imports a variety of specialty and gourmet items not found anywhere else on Long Island.
