Bahamas Fishing Is World Class Fishing At It's Best!
Bahamas fishing is everything you dreamed of and MORE! You are in the most beautiful setting imaginable. Clear, blue water and warm, balmy temperatures year round will put anyone in the mood to spend the day on a boat. There is amazing sportfishing for bonefish, tarpon, permit, grouper, and snapper close to shore. If you want pelagic fish like wahoo, dolphin (Mahi Mahi), and tuna, it's just a short ride to the deep, blue sea and you will be amazed at the fish you will pull in so close to the islands!!!!

We have cruised all over the
Bahamas islands
aboard our
sailboat, Puff,
and we NEVER had to go without fish for supper. It is true that my husband is a VERY good fisherman, but it is also true that the Bahamas are the best fishing grounds we've found in our sailing travels. It's actually one of the reasons
we decided to build a home here!

You don't need your own boat in the Bahamas to enjoy fantastic fishing. There are so many amazing local fishing guides in the Bahamas, all you have to do is ask around
wherever you are staying
and someone will be glad to put you in contact with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. My favorite fishing guide, Locksley Cartwright, lives and works on
Long Island.
Good luck getting a spot with him. He is very popular and usually completely booked up to a year in advance! Call (242)338-8809, or email: pierre@chezpierrebahamas.com at Chez Pierre's Eco-Beach Cottages, to book a stay and ask if Locksley is available.
The Bight of Ackilins
is known for world class bonefishing flats. This is where the rich and famous do their bonefishing! It is important to point out, however, that the ENTIRE Bahamas provides excellent fishing at any time of the year. Certain months are better for catching certain fish. Here is a brief explanation of the best Bahamas fishing seasons: January: Bonefish, Mackerel, Snapper, and Shark February: Bonefish, Mackerel, Snapper, and Shark March: Allison Tuna, Amberjack, Bonefish, Dolphin, Sailfish, Mackerel, Permit, Grouper, Snapper, Shark, Wahoo, White Marlin April: Allison Tuna, Amberjack, Bonefish, Bluefin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Dolphin, Sailfish, Mackerel, Permit, Grouper, Snapper, Shark, White Marlin May: Allison Tuna, Amberjack, Bonefish, Blackfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Broadbill Swordfish, Dolphin, Sailfish, Oceanic Bonito, Permit, Tarpon, Grouper, Snapper, Shark, White Marlin June: Amberjack, Bonefish, Blackfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Broadbill Swordfish, Kingfish, Oceanic Bonito, Permit, Tarpon, Grouper, Snapper, Shark, White Marlin July: Amberjack, Bonefish, Broadbill Swordfish, Oceanic Bonito, Permit, Grouper, Snapper, Shark August: Amberjack, Bonefish, Blackfin Tuna, Broadbill Swordfish, Permit, Grouper, Snapper, Shark September: Bonefish, Blackfin Tuna, Broadbill Swordfish, Grouper, Snapper, Shark October: Bonefish, Grouper, Snapper, Shark November: Bonefish, Grouper, Snapper, Shark December: Bonefish, Snapper, Shark, Wahoo In the Southern Bahamas, Bonefishing is good year round.
